Thunderstruck by Erik Larson

4.0

Fascinating story of the race to invent wireless technology, and how it served ocean travel, while also eventually playing a part in a Scotland Yard case.

I AM a science geek, so I enjoyed hearing of Marconi's trial and error in achieving further and further distances of wireless communication. The human interest part of the story, with Dr Crippen, was a bit heartbreaking, and I found myself very sympathetic to his situation.

I've yet to find an Erik Larson book that I don't love!
This one, like the others, reads more like a fictional mystery than like history.
I highly recommend it.
