2 stars purely for the serviceable writing that managed to keep me into the story. The characters however are unremarkable in my opinion, the characterisation of the revealed culprit is all over the place, and there is just no suspense. Things pretty much happen and most of the time, they have no impact or pay off to the main plot and are only connected to it in minuscule ways. It was king of a whatever read, a “nothing book”. I can’t say I’ll be reading more of this author in the future.
