MySpace For Dummies by Ryan Hupfer, Ryan Williams
3.0
In MySpace's heyday, this book was probably derided as something only for nosey parents or school administrators. Even before social networks had dedicated User Experience designers (and before the title even existed), it was pretty easy to figure things out through frequent usage.
Today, the book still loses a lot of style points for cliche writing but it takes on a new life as an artifact of a bygone era from which very little has been preserved. Replete with instructions on how to modify HTML and CSS code, upload the maximum of 4 MP3 files to your band's page, and edit videos using Windows Movie Maker. Some thought-provoking insights for those interested in the history of social networks and very early Web 2.0. Filled with screenshots.
