Great pace. The settings and characters were vivid that it was easy to enter and instantly feel part of the world. I would’ve liked to see more diversity in cast including disabled characters thriving in the world as scribes or healers, and for the friendships, particularly between the female characters, to be explored in more, depth. E.g. showing them learning from each other rather than the enemy to friend troupe. That said, the sexual tension (and release!) between the two main characters was written and paced so well. Hot, hot, hot! A brilliant twist and cliff hanger of an ending too! Definitely helped me out of a book slump.
