Unhinged Alphas
by Lenore Rosewood
I blew thru these books in just a couple days and I am HOOKED.
First off Wraith definitely carries this series. I know I complain about when in why choose's one man gets more attention than the others, but this series is the exception. I feel like we got a tiny bit of redemption from when he got excluded from Ivy's heat in book one. The male virgin trope is my FAV, and the way it played out in this book was delectable.
That's being said, there are still a lot of issues in this series that I feel like should have been answered or worked towards. First, the fact the pack is so splintered among the alphas. I feel like the beginning of book one led me to think they had a little more of a bond with each other, and they really don't. Valek's behavior felt kinda out of nowhere, like his character was going one way in book one and then the author changed their mind? It was strange. I'm not angry about where he is at, just that it felt like a weird switch mid series.
There are a lot of good individual moments between Ivy and the men, but I need more pack moments. It's just not going there and I need the men to connect more and also for the whole pack to work towards bonding. It feels jumbled right now, and I feel like going into a third book we should have had more by now.
Also there are tons of "inspo" in this book I feel like taken from other things that I didn't notice as much with the first. Not all bad, just, a lot of marvel nods, and aspects of the story where I'm like, ok, that was a heavy inspo.
But, I am throughly enjoying the series and I literally cannot wait for the next book. I will be salivating over here.
