What is actually going on? I think I just read myself into a reading slump because the way this is the best book I’ve ever read.
This was so insanely beautiful and in ways that I didn’t expect AT ALL. Tracy Deonn is an ARTIST, so incredibly talented and intelligent. This is a plot that I never could’ve imagined even with all my predictions and curiosities from Legendborn NEVER did I think the sequel would eat me up like this.
OMG?? Also the further exploration of Sel and Bree was everything I absolutely needed and didn’t even know I needed. I ate this book up. I’m so so in love with all of the character dynamics and the time taken to develop these characters in the most unique way. I am so so so so so so obsessed. And I cannot wait for the third one.
BOOK OF THE YEAR. I also was so in love with the exploration of the relationship Bree has with her ancestors and the nuance that can come with being so connected and in tune with the pain and grief that they all carried.
This book did such an excellent job of exploring the heaviness of grief. It was heavy but so beautiful because it revealed how much love lies in grief.
