Food is a love language and this book shows that in a variety of ways through the different short stories. The stories weren't all what I was expecting (hello, "Kings and Queens"), but the themes of family, community, and love are clearly woven throughout. I thought Lila deserved more meaty of a story, for all that she shows up in everyone else's.
Favorites: "Kings and Queens," "The Grand Ishq Adventure," "The Slender One," "Gimme Some Sugar," and "Hearts a la Carte."
