Her Name in the Sky
by Kelly Quindlen
Meh. I almost got into a reading slump with this one. The writing style felt very sophisticated, which would have been fine if the characters were sophisticated as well. The characters (they’re high school seniors) were drinking a lot and then in the mornings they’d be complaining about their hangovers and then that night they be drinking like vodka and whisky. The plot didn’t become really page-turner-y until over halfway through. The book is over 400 hundred pages, so if it was less, I think the plot stuff would have been fine.
