An interesting read, I can’t help but feel it probably reads better in its original language. The story also seemed to struggle to balance between the mystery and the family drama, often focusing on one for a large section and abandoning the other until it swapped focus again. This tends to minimize the intensity & urgency of the mystery and murders.
There’s also long sections of exposition that don’t add a lot to the story that are a bit of a drag to read through.
A bit predictable, especially since on scene mid-book kinda gives away a lot of information.
