Wow! I didn't learn about half of the stuff in this series while I was in high school. John Lewis is an amazing person, and it's incredible what he's accomplished. I think this series should be required reading for every American. The Civil Rights Movement was only 50, 60 years ago, and we've backslid in a lot of ways (voter suppression, police violence). It's scary how many echoes of our current world can be found in this series. But more than a compelling history, this is a great comic. The art is beautiful and serves to further and deepen the story rather than just being there.
