I’m struggling with myself on how I felt about this book as a whole. I loved the first 15-20%, the ending was good (although tragic), and I loved the main themes of this retelling. However, the bulk of the middle portion was SO incredibly difficult for me to get through, so much so I almost DNF’d. I understand why people love this book, I just personally was taken out of the story too many times and was bored for far too long to give this a higher rating…

It kind of hurts to do this but my gut is giving this a 2.75⭐️, don’t hate me
