Sick Kids in Love by Hannah Moskowitz

5.0

I loved this so much. There are just not enough love stories about people with chronic illness and/or disabilities. There is ableism in the story, both internalized and from people's loved ones. But for me it was handled well because it's always challenged by someone.

I am really not a fan of romances written in first-person, present tense. I just don't understand the construct. But I was several pages into this book before I even noticed that, and it didn't bother me as I read. I think it helped a lot that there were no graphic sex scenes, that's always where I get weirded out with first-person, present-tense narration.

That makes me think I may try reading more books that I wanted to read until I found out about their narration.
