A Throne of Ruin
by K.F. Breene
So, I should start by saying I almost didn't bother with this book. The first one was just a 2.5 star read for me, but I enjoyed the characters and the plot still had a lot of potential. I decided to give this book a go.
Pros:
Finley is a strong character and interesting. I appreciate that she's not just the stereotypical reader, but truly a scientist. She's strong while still feminine, and she has plenty of flaws.
The curse causing illness that Finley and Nyfain with together to combat in other villages is a strong plot point. It also deals with class systems and medical care being a card human right.
The humor and witty dialogue is great.
The supporting characters are good and add to the story without distracting from the main plot
Cons:
So. Many. Sexcapades.
