The Farthest Shore by Ursula K. Le Guin
5.0
I will forever admire and envy Mrs. Le Guin, not just for her great skill in her prose but her ability to make her stories of such grand, epic scale so quiet and introspective as to almost pass by in a whisper. It features - among other things - the fate of the world as if it's scarcely decoration, and is made better for it. It is a remarkable feat indeed to be so dense with philosophy, so packed with adventure which passes as if it's but a simple road trip, and which captivates the whole way through. I am in awe.
