The chemistry is undeniable, and the emotional angst is thick throughout the book. I thought that Raven’s strength was a major highlight of the book. She is gritty and resilient, refusing to let her circumstances define her.
This book is not without it’s faults. The plot leans heavily into dramatics, sometimes at the expense of believability. There are moments when things felt forced or overly exaggerated and certain twists felt more like a soap opera than the romantic suspense that is touted.
Still, there is no denying that the Boys of Brayshaw High is addictive. I found myself unable to put it down, and looking forward to what happens next. If your in the mood for something raw, rebellious and dripping with drama, this delivers. It’s not perfect, but it is unusually entertaining. I’m intrigued enough to continue with the series and see how Raven and the boys evolve.
