I wish for every white person to read this book! If you are going to read one book about race, make this the first one you read. Clearly explains a broad perspective of the black experience that white people simply do not understand. This book mainly scratches the surface, but is a fantastic introduction to extremely important issues. I have read other books about racial issues in the past that have explored different ideas on a deeper level, but I still learned a lot from this book. The audiobook is narrated by the author herself and I enjoyed listening to her tell her stories while exercising, driving, cooking, etc.
