A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin

4.0

This book took me about a year to finish, which was not entirely the books fault, because I admit I was very busy and stressed through most of last year, however, it also shows that I was able to put it down and not be too excited about picking it back up again.

It's not a bad book, by any means, and I did thoroughly enjoy it, but it didn't really strt to spark my interest until about half way through, which is one reason why it did take so ungodly long for me to read, along with the fact that the book is over 800 pages long.

I found myself taking quite a few notes during reading, which I do anyway, but I almost felt like I had to take notes for this one because there is just such a vast word with a huge cast of characters, I found it difficult to keep all of the side characters straight.

I gave it 4 stars because I could potentially see myself reading this again, and it was a very good read, but it's not quite at the level of making me want to buy the series hardcover just as a collector's thing or of even making it a priority to re-read. I have plans to finish this series, because I did enjoy it enough to stay interested in some of these characters and to see what becomes of them all.
