Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

There is a lot of nature in this little book. Willa Cather offers the landscape, wildlife, flowers and insects alongside the story of Alexandra Bergson, a Swedish pioneer farming in Nebraska at the end of the 19th century.
I enjoyed the characterisations and the different immigrant communities striving to establish themselves in their new country, with their lives and losses and hopes.
I especially liked barefoot old Ivar. Great character.
