The setting, the mystery, and the spooky vibes really sold this one for me. The writing was so seamless and I felt like I was really invested in the story, even when some of the clues seemed obvious. It was a nice pace with crumbs of information throughout the book rather than a heavy handed backstory right at the beginning. Definitely would recommemd reading this in the fall around Halloween, even though the story takes place in the summer.
