RECAP: After a year in Endovier’s brutal salt mines, 18 Y/O assassin Celaena Sardothien is offered freedom if she wins a deadly competition to become the king’s champion. As she trains with the stoic Captain Westfall & catches the eye of Prince Dorian, fellow contestants begin turning up dead. To survive, Celaena must uncover the killer - while discovering a far greater destiny than she ever expected.

REVIEW: Although this didn't hook me like Fourth Wing and even A Court of Thorns and Roses did, I am still invested in this series and Celaena's journey! Even if the love triangle hurts my heart a little. But I'm sure there will be other characters to fall in love with throughout this series, along with characters to detest. I've already got all my library requests in for Crown of Midnight, so hopefully I can start that sooner rather than later. And to give SJM some credit, the fact that she started writing this series when she was 16 is absolutely BANANAS.
