This book is older than I am and is still better than 99% of the contemporary romances I've read.
With one of the wackiest premises, there were so many ways this story of a marriage-of-convenience could have gone wrong. But WOW was I surprised at how well this held up.
The development in Jane and Cal's relationship from a true enemies-to-lovers was SO good. I'm not a fan of marriages of convenience for often, they feel contrived and cheesy. However, this is one of the few exceptions where the author managed to execute this (rather tired) trope BEAUTIFULLY. Their BANTER and CHEMISTRY WERE TOP NOTCH I've actually laughed out loud several times throughout the story. The swoons I had from Cal's grovel was JUST
