Masters of Death by Olivie Blake

Did I understand what was going on? Nope. Did I still enjoy the story? Hell yeah I did.

There was a plot, but I don't think it was the main focus. I think this book is more character development focused - that's what the main story is about. I would put it in the same category as 'The Starless Sea' by Erin Morgenstren - you just sit there and enjoy whatever your are reading and try not the think too hard about it.

With the amount of supernatural beings/creatures in this book, it reminds me of Supernatural the TV show. It was very much like watching an episode within that world, but following the lives of different people.

I thoroughly enjoyed this urban-supernatural/fantasy story.

It is not a beginner level for fantasy, I think it more intermediate or high level. The concepts can be challenging and some might not find that enjoyable to read.
