A Dawn with the Wolf Knight by Elise Kova
4.0
Another beautiful installment to the Married to Magic universe! With this most of the map of Midscape is now clear. However certain parts of the book make me wonder about another installment soon? We will see.
I enjoyed this one quite a bit. Returning to this world is nice because while it’s a series they are all their own thing. I need to remember a bit about the previous books but not everything. Which is nice when it’s been several months since reading the last one.
I liked the story of a little red riding hood retelling, in which she is not saving Grandma but the spirit of the moon. For a standalone that only has so much time to spend on each scene I was very pleased with the development in character and story. Faelyn is relatively realistic and flawed in her portrayal. Some plot points were easily guessed from foreshadowing but I still enjoyed it. Interested to see if there will ever be a novella or something that brings all the stories together.
