Mixed feelings, something was off for me and I isn't care for the writing style.
2.5 stars.
It was obvious early on what the "twist" was, so there was no real suspense to be had, it wasn't a page turner. It kept me engaged, so I can't say I hated it, but mainly it was a lot of words to get you to an ending you already had the answer for. Maybe I was hoping something would come out of nowhere? That is what kept me reading? But it never did.
I just learned its a series. Torture. I am a completist, now I will have to read the next one.
