I really enjoyed this book. It definitely was a quick read for me because of how much I enjoyed it.
Oraya herself is a character that I liked from the first page. She's courageous and smart, all while balancing it with vulnerability and ignorance. While the romance between her and Raihn was good and fulfilling, my favourite relationship in this book was the one between Oraya and her father, Vincent.
There's just something about 'evil father-favourite daughter' that I just gobble up. The relationship was so good, because even with the tension of the situation, both of them combating their inherent nature - Oraya's humanity and being kind of afraid of Vincent, and Vincent's violent vampire nature and his hunger for more power - they love each other. In Vincent's case, he loves Oraya as much as he is capable of. The relationship between these two are mostly explored through Oraya's point of view, clouding the narrative of Vincent's deeds with her love for him, which makes the ending all the more gut wrenching.
