As Nikaido deals with a fungus problem, Kasukabe recounts some of his finer patchwork in a flash from the past. Caiman tries his hand at gyoza and deals with a pest problem, learning something about himself in the process. A less-than-friendly rivalry baseball game brings up old wounds in The Hole for Fujita, while back in the sorcercer's realm a whoopsie causes reptilian trouble for Shin, En, and Noi. Risu returns, and the mystery behind his death and resurrection takes an eye-crossing turn, while the rest is left in chaos.
This was for me another fun volume that both revealed a lot of questions and was stupid fun - I have also watched the anime adaptation of this volume and am really fond of it, so I definitely recommend checking it out if you're enjoying this series. This volume combines the goofiness of a Twilight-esque baseball side quest; actual revelations about Ebisu's scaly magic; blasts from the past that could lead to answering some of our bigger questions; a SHOCKING cockroach; baby Shin's backstory; Caiman being jealous of Nikaido's cooking ~and attention~; Risu's plotting and the search for a new character; En having a man in a birdcage in his basement; and Ebisu having her Jurassic Park moment. 12/10 a good time, and I wish i had grabbed the next volume from the library because I am so locked into this series right now!
