Fast-paced, thrilling, addictive.
I can't pretend that these books are literary masterpieces, but they are a lot of fun.
I am impressed by how McFadden manages to write such short, 4-page chapters that all end in some kind of cliffhanger, and yet it doesn't get old, boring, or predictable.
I slightly preferred her first book, The Housemaid, and did notice about halfway through that the plot of the sequel is a very close mirroring of The Housemaid. Nevertheless, it didn't hinder my enjoyment.
The perfect page-turner to get you out of a reading slump.
