On paper, this was definitely a book for me. I love dark academia and I love vampires, so what could go wrong?
Well... a few things apparently.
Firstly, I wasn't sold on the characters. I didn't really like them, nor did I feel any of their decision-making was particularly rational and so I found myself annoyed and detached from them for most of the book. Then I also wasn't totally won over by the prose and even the plot felt less like a cohesive story than a sequence of events.
Still, I did finish this and was intrigued by some part of it. I think some would like this, it just wasn't really what I hoped it would be.
