One Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle

5.0

This is a summer story about a Katy who goes to her mums favourite place in Italy after her mother dies to feel closer to her.
I’ve been seeing so many people disappointed in this but I really loved it. I can definitely see why others had issues with it, it was far from perfect but I was completely captivated by this story. The writing was beautiful I was annotating every few pages and the way grief was described really hit. Rebecca Serle just managed to put so many emotions and thoughts I’ve had into words so it was a hard book for me to dislike.
I feel like this is a book I’ll return to when I’m going through grief and that I’ll be grateful for it.
