This has a load of my favourite things in it - necromancy, ghosts, gothic atmosphere, eldest sister finding herself, dramatic romance, and a competition aspect - so it was inevitable that I would love this. The trials were ghastly and fun, the whole atmosphere delightfully dark and gothic, and the romance very steamy. An addictive read.
