The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

4.25

From what I remember of the movie (which isn’t much, considering I watched it nearly 4 years ago), the book is much more in-depth and overall better. That’s not really a fair comparison, though. The book had a nice balance of hopefulness and depressing bits. The two didn’t cancel each other out, but they did make the story more realistic, at least for me. I don’t know, I feel like I’m kind of neutral on the topic of this book, because there was nothing I didn’t like about it, but it also didn’t wow me or make me feel anything big. It was blah, but also at the same time quite good.
It reminded me of Solitaire and Radio Silence by Alice Oseman, Dead Poets Society, and Turtles All the Way Down by John Green.
