Fifty Shades Freed
by E.L. James
Oh man. This is why you don't get your hopes up about a series. This is the third and last of the awesome Fifty Shades trilogy. The first two were so tightly written and so well told that I've been waiting anxiously for this one to come out.
Unfortunately, I felt that this one just did not live up to the first two.
It goes on and on.
There were a few things that needed to be wrapped up from the last book, but I really wish she had just done that in the last book, not written a whole 'nother novel. Freed really needs an editor. At times it reads like a series of vignettes. You can really tell that EL James is a television writer when you read this one. It's written almost in a series of scenes, whereas the other two did not give this impression.
The best part was the extras in the end. You get to read about Fifty and Ana's first meeting from Fifty's point of view.
Criticisms?
Baby too much. Hyde didn't thread all the way though. He just popped up every once in a while, and was an excuse for Fifty to go all super possessive over Ana.
It was disappointing, but not bad. Definitely pick up if your'e a fan of the series. If you're new? Don't start here.
I really do like how James writes and I will pick up her other books, this one just fell flat for me.
