What a wheeze!
Celebrated crime novelist Eleanor Ashley invites two renowned novelists to spend Christmas with her. Upon their arrival in England we’re introduced to an assortment of characters, family of Eleanor and others linked to her. Nobody is quite sure of the purpose of the visit, but it soon becomes clear.
Maggie and Ethan come from very different places in terms of their writing, and have something of a love-hate relationship. From the outset we see that there’s more to this relationship than either lets on, and the book gives us ample opportunity to see their relationship unfold.
Our two novelists have to join forces when Eleanor goes missing and there are a number of attempts on the lives of the assembled guests. From start to finish we know we’re looking at a special locked-room mystery, and it’s hard not to fall under the charm of this festive mystery.
