God I don't know how to review this book, it just has all of my heart.
I went in expecting an adorable enemies to lovers romance (which I definitely got!) but this book is so much more than that. I can't emphasize how much I related to Sadie. I don't know, there are some books I read and they touch me so deeply, it's as if someone took a peek inside me and decided to write everything on paper. Highschool me would have loved to read this book and know she wasn't that alone.
I mean as it is I cried buckets over this book, over both Sadie and Julian. Sadie's a perfect A student who's giving all the eldest daughter vibes (even though she's actually the younger sibling). She's always striving to do as much as she can for her family, to make sure they're looked after and be the reliable good girl. Because she has always been the good girl, the people pleaser because she doesn't know what will happen if she's not that. Except her hate emails get leaked to the entire school and now she has to find just that.
And then we have Julius who's in the shadows of his elder brother. Everything comes easy to his brother but Julius works to his bone to try and reach those standards and keep up with Sadie - the star of the school, his co-captain and the love of his life.
Like these two just break my heart over and over through the book because you just know they're meant to be together and the slow-burn - god the slow burn is amazing. I was literally a giggling mess over this romance. It's predictable, of course it is, but the writing is so beautiful and the characters so well-written that you won't mind at all.
10/10 I would whole heartedly recommend!!!
