YAY! One of my favorite author’s new book. Man, what a story and I absolutely loved it.
I really like the author writing style and her emotionally overcharged story, especially since she creates them without too much drama, kind of effortlessly.
So the story is basically a college romance with a couple of well placed twist and a bit more serious undertone to it. Ok, that just halfway true, its more complex than that.
First, we have a slightly conservative Summer, with her misdirected emotions and a more child like view of things. However you can feel that there is something more underneath it all. Fortunatley she gets a wake up call and starts to develope a more sassy, endearingly crazy and honest personality. Gets new friends and directions but her emotions still cause her headaches.
Then there is Caden. So far my fav character from Tijan was Mason, but Caden may have overthrown him. His is feared and respected by almost everybody on campus, but they also think that he is broody and distant. Not to mention sexy. In my opinion he was just more mature than others and he has his reasons to be. I liked that he doesn’t engage in their childis games and lives his life honestly.
One of the best things in the book is the relationship between Summer and Caden. I loved their banter and simple interactions. They create a bond that everybody wishes for.
“I’d settle for Hot Tits.” I glanced down at mine. “Maybe the positive reinforcement will help them grow.”
Beside the funny parts there are a more serious storyline to the book, too. This part is full of heavy and heartbreaking emotions and a little bit confusing, at least for me. I couldn’t agree with a couple of decisions the characters made. However I liked the outcome, its a really good book. One last thing, I think there is still potential in the story. I feel not everything got resolved so I’m hoping for a second book, maybe?
