There are many things I love about this book but the number one spot is definitely the fact that it is Frances’s and Aled’s friendship that is the backbone of the plot. Not romance being the emotional carrier but friendship. One would have thought that 22 years into the 21st century it wouldn’t be a revolutionary move but it is. Especially when one of them is in the relationship so the focus could be swayed in that direction but it wasn’t. Alice Oseman, I can’t even begin to describe how much I love you for giving us books like this. Diverse voices (whoop whoop for another ace-spec rep), friendship at the forefront, figuring out yourself and your priorities outside of society’s expectations. Thank you
Moderate: Child abuse and Emotional abuse
