I was excited to read this and trying a horror book. Sometimes it backfires to not read into the book and base it off some booktok recommendations. I had an idea of what a horror book would be and my expectations were not met. I think the fact that the “horror” aspect wasn’t met for me was why I found this a bit bland. This is definitely a mystery thriller with a paranormal element. The twist was interesting and I was entertained (liked the pictures), but this is not a book that will be in my most memorable. There were some remarks that left me saying, huh.
