The Sleeper and the Spindle
by Neil Gaiman
Yes. I know. There's a ton of issues with Gaiman. I'm also way behind on my TBR, and this was purchased before those issues came up (yes, that's how far behind I am).
And it's irritating, because dammit, the man can write. I've always thought he was the closest thing to Bradbury we have currently living. Anyway, enough. About the book.
This is a lovely, and interesting twist on a couple of fairy tales...with a couple of interesting twists in the story itself. I quite enjoyed it. However, I firmly believe that the enjoyment was massively elevated by Riddell's gorgeous illustrations. They brought the entire thing to life.
