This is the second book I’ve read from V Castro, and I do feel like the shorter format works better than the novel I read. It’s not very horror forward, not that scary, and there are a couple of things where I have to suspend my disbelief HARD. But I am biased because I appreciate stories that feature and center Chicana experiences, fears, and hopes.
