Stolen Chances
by Clio Evans
Um wow. I have mixed feelings on this book and my I can't decide if my rating is too high or too low. Stolen Chances is a MMF small town romance book. Sarah is the FMC, a single mom who got out of an abusive marriage. Colton is one of the MMCs and was Sarah's first love until she caught him kissing a guy. Sammy is Colton's best friend's brother and that brother is also married to Sarah's sister. They each fall for one another separatley but eventually realize they are better together. While all of this is going on Sarah and Sammy have instances of being attacked or stalked. I really enjoyed the plot of this book as a whole. I thought that the suspense storyline was really good and it did keep me guessing. The communication of the 3 main characters was so good and so honest. I even enjoyed the kids which can sometimes throw me off in books. The actual relationship between the characters was so well written and there was no jealousy when it could've been easy to write some. My issues lied in the writing style of the spicy scenes. Even though I liked the communication in the book I did not like it in the smut. It was very cringey and awkward. I also felt like Sammy wasn't as fleshed out as Sarah and Colt were. They kept bringing up how he was brooding and quiet but that wasn't the character on the page ever. Even if that's who he was without Sarah and Colt I never really experienced that in the book. I gave the book a 4.25 star rating. It easily could've been 5 stars without the cringey writing. The spice wasn't too overwhelming either but was intense for what was there. I would reccomend this book to anyone who wants a small town romance with a suspense plot.
