Wow. I don’t think I’ve fully processed everything there is to process about this book. And I just took a war and peace through literature course and there is so much in this book related to war trauma I couldn’t help myself from analyzing it from that lens. It is heartbreakingly beautiful, and there is a lottttt in it. I would highly recommend this book, but I will say it’s not one to read if you are wanting a happy and light read. It is intense, there are themes of war PTSD, domestic violence, death, grief, and more. It is beautifully written and well articulated, but man is it a wild read. Kristin Hannah’s way with words is incredible.
