My Life With The Walter Boys, now a hit Netflix adaptation, follows Jackie Howard, who, after losing her family, moves from New York to Colorado to live with her mum’s best friend, her husband, and the twelve kids in their house. At the Walter house, Jackie befriends some of the boys, falls for one of them, and tries to deal with her grief whilst managing her academic and extracurricular activities, all of which become overwhelming and difficult to deal with at times. My favourite character was Cole - I love him in the show anyway, but I love him so much more in the book. My least favourite character was Mary - I’m glad they made Paige slightly better than this in the show. I recommend this book because it’s a really beautiful love story between Jackie and Cole, which I prefer to the love triangle trope. But there are a lot of plot points and character arcs that were improved in the series. “Loving you just crept up on me, and before I knew it, I was head over heels for you.”
