After pushing through a so-so midpoint, the ending really came to life for me. The vague, “every action is weighty” feeling that the characters try to give off did not convince me until the last act or so. What was pulled together, though, was a finale that I won’t forget anytime soon. I felt like LeGuin balanced vividness and dreaminess very well and had me feeling that the characters were crucial and yet at the end of their ropes
