it does the thing that it's supposed to do very well, let's be clear on that. I'm just becoming too old for YA.
that being said, reading this knowing about what Albertalli went thru on booktok is quite chilling. I can see it shining out of the text and it's so incredibly fucked up. I'm happy her perspective is out there, wrapped in such a cute book where the youngsters can take notes from it, and hopefully learn to do better.
