The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi

5.0

A startling vision of a near future that is all too plausible. The characters are finely drawn, the settings are at once exotic and familiar, and the narrative is a gradual, but gripping windup to the exciting conclusion. Well worth your time if you enjoy the "social fiction" of William Gibson, Bruce Sterling or Neil Stephenson.
