I love a great billionaire romance. Usually they are short and not always sweet but this particular story was an absolute joy. It was definitely far fetched Xavier is a billionaire playboy doing community service at the local soup kitchen to serve penance for a scuffle with the paparazzi. As a result he meets Mia a homeless woman who for some inexplicable reason draws his attention. He is intrigued by her but has no idea why. He finds himself trying to garner her attention to no avail. But after weeks and many failed attempts he finally gets some reaction from her. It feels like a small victory to him but to Mia the attention is scary and unwanted. She's unaccustomed to male attention and it frightens her. She tries very hard to fly under his radar until one night when the shelter is closed. She is standing outside in the freezing cold contemplating what to do when Xavier approaches. From there the story takes on an almost Cinderella like feel. He whisks her away and gives her everything she needs. A home, clothes a warm bed and a safe place to be. His initial interest in her begins to bloom expectedly from simple intrigue to desire. And before long they are both giving the other something very special. I won't ruin the whole story with every detail but I was more than a little surprised with how endearing this story was to me. The relationship between Xavier and Mia is precious and beautiful in such a tender way. He handles her with such care and reverence. I was blown away by the depth of emotion packed into this story. It tugged on my heart strings and brought a smile to my face. I definitely give this book 5 stars and hope to read more from this author.
