Skeletons of Society by Marie Maravilla
4.0
I don't think this is a book I normally would have picked for myself, however, it was the June book of the month for @unholyromancereaders. I was pleasantly pleased by this book; it was very enjoyable. When I read books that feature a badass female main character, they always come across as so bothersome to me that I find myself disliking the book. This one, on the other hand, did not. In fact, I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Ryan, and I frankly am not sure if I would prefer to do her or be her. And don't even get me started on Gunner, because who wouldn't love a dirty-talking motorbike rider? I have got to say that there were a few unexpected twists and turns in this story that I hadn't anticipated coming, and whether or not it was the action, spice, or suspense, I was constantly captivated by this story for every moment of it.
“I’ll paint the walls with anyone who gets between Ryan and me and bring her their heads,” I promised. “You know, for normal chicks, I’d say not the best gift idea. But for Ryan…no better way to that woman’s heart than bringing her severed body parts,”
