was this book self-help ish? yes
did i read it during a very bad crisis that definitely influenced my opinion on the book? also yes.
this one hit me pretty hard, as i have literally tried to commit suicide in the same way nora does, but the thing is, i didn't get the same conclusions nora did. i woke up feeling just as bad and suicidal as i was. this happened years ago, and i'm not in the same place (mentally) as i was, i'm in therapy and genuinely want to get better. unfortunately these past months have been pretty harsh and my suicidal ideations have been coming back at full force. in a way, this book was a reminder that life is worth living, it's a cliche ending and not a perfect representation of a clinically depressed person by any means but i feel like it was the book i needed to read at this exact moment.
