Wow. Yep. Wow - that is all I can give. For such a strong storyline from a debut release I am beyond floored. I am captivated and I am conflicted yet confused.

So why would I say that? Well easy, Mia is a victim of an attempted assault a few years prior, one that traumatized her so badly she lost several tidbits of her memory; you would think she could move on but then she is mugged which triggers more lost memories, her fearing for her life and more drama than one person should handle. On one hand you have the powerful hero, Cole trying to win her over with his dripping sexual appeal and charismatic personality while on the other spectrum you have Jack - the guy who was randomly visiting another woman in her apartment complex yet when trouble calls he calls himself Mia's 'boyfriend' - talk about soap opera.

Mia is somewhat a mystery to me. Like most of the characters in Come Back to Me, but even as the main perspective and character she completely baffles me. And honestly, how can you blame me? Mia is a mystery to even herself. This level of twist building for the character growth is riveting, it completely aids in the suspense of the novel. Where she is smart and curious, she is also faulty and quite childish personality. She has such a one-eighty change on her personality spectrum that as I get more of her backstory into her accident she completely changes things up throwing me a curve ball.

With the two love interests, if you can consider them that, in Mia's life continues to grow more questions. Obviously there are secrets from both Cole and Jack, but also surrounding Mia involving other secondary characters. Jack is obviously creepy, I'm sorry, he irked me from the beginning introduction. Cole on the other hand was also something of a reclusive mystery. Though he was more adamant on this awkward insta-connection with Mia, he was the possessive hero of the story - but why? I was constantly questioning every dynamic for the worth of both Cole and Jack's characters towards the plot. Obviously they held some significance to everything, but what?

You can see where this might be going - love triangle. But honestly in my opinion, did Jack even really have a chance? He was completely overbearing towards Mia, and still I cannot get over how creepy he was towards every situation. He was quick to throw insults towards Mia, he was slightly toxic character.

I will also admit that at times the dialogue had a certain level of awkward feels. Plus with Mia's personality, I understood she was a weaker mindset, lord knows I would be, but she seemed rather childish, inferior. Why couldn't she just be her own person? She was constantly depending on Jack or Cole to be her hero instead of being the heroine herself.

All I can say right now is I am completely and utterly confused. And I mean that in the best of ways. This entire suspense of the plot took me for a ride and it is still rounding my head in full spins trying to keep up. I love cliffhangers to stunning climatic builds like these; as a reader it leaves you completely questioning your sanity, trying to devolve the true mystery of each character leaving you wanting more. I cannot wait to dive into Forever with Me - looking forward to finding out the truths behind the character dynamics, I just know I am in for a ride.
