This was probably the first adult sci-fi book I've read, even though it leans more literary. It was a nice segue having read the dystopian world that is The Hunger Games right before this one into different dystopian/apocalyptic. This was also the first St. John Mandel I've read, and it already isn't my last (I'm reading Station Eleven right now).
I thought I would mind all of the jumping around, but the author just a wonderful job of keeping each story/timeline separate while also intermingling particular details to make it cohesive at the end. The only reason I didn't give it the full 5 stars was because it lacked (at least for me) the "couldn't put-downness" I like.
